Massive indeed

The Columbus Crew are in Engerland for the next few days as part of their preseason ritual. As part of this trip they're playing friendlies against the Liverpool and Everton reserve squads to get in some practice against quality opponents. In between these games however the Crew will be playing against English Seventh Division side Guiseley (known as the bantams). For the Crew This game will get in some playing time for the reserves, for Guiseley however this game is a big deal. The Bantams coach apparently has contacts in the US and was the one who arranged the friendly. The tone of this article is supremely flattering for the Crew and MLS as a whole. The coach thinks he can get a crowd of around 2,000 just watch the match, and that's nothing to sneeze at, as the seventh division side's stadium only holds 3,000. Apparently the reputation of MLS' "Massive Club" has spread a lot further than most people had realized. If this isn't a sign of the league gaining respect around the world then I don't know what is. I hope the Crew are able to put on a good show for these guys. Also, if any Guiseleyites make it over to this page somehow, much respect, and as far as this blogger is concerned Go Guiseley! (when they're not playing the Crew that is)
